Florida claims, 2026

Your claim, documented properly

We document the loss as we work: extent, observed conditions, per-material moisture readings, equipment hours, and a written scope, all handed to you. Your carrier gets a clear, technically grounded record of what happened and what was done about it, and you stay in control of the claim throughout.

01 · How it works

Five steps, and where we fit

The claim stays yours from start to finish. You decide who works on your property, you see every document, and nothing is agreed with your carrier on your behalf. Under Florida law, post-loss benefits on a residential policy issued on or after January 1, 2023 can't be assigned to a contractor, so no restoration company can take the claim over. Our job is to give you a record good enough that the conversation is about facts rather than opinions. Where the law applies to your specific policy is a question for your carrier or your own adviser.

One thing to do before anything else

Photograph and video everything before it's moved or pumped out. Wide shots of each room, then close-ups. Your phone is fine, and more photographs are better. It takes two minutes and it's the most useful thing you can do before we arrive.

01

Drying starts

Most property policies ask you to take reasonable steps to prevent further damage after a loss, so drying normally starts before anyone has visited. We record the original condition thoroughly as we work, so nothing is lost by acting quickly.

02

You open the claim while we work

You can open the claim while we're still drying; there's no need to choose between waiting and finishing the job first. We provide documentation of the conditions we found, affected-area records, photographs, and relevant readings, so your first conversation with the carrier begins with substantive information. Carrier processes differ, so we follow whatever yours asks for.

03

If an adjuster visits

If your carrier requests a site visit, we aim to have the appropriate person from our team there, ideally whoever took the readings. Questions get answered in the room instead of over a week of email.

04

Scope and estimate

Our IICRC-certified technicians write the scope in the format carriers price from, with readings and photographs attached to the line items they support. Anyone reading it, including you, can see why each item is there and how the work was priced.

05

Payment and reimbursement

Payment terms, including anything due at the start of the job, are explained and agreed in writing before work begins. Insurance reimbursement depends on your policy, your carrier and the claim itself, so we won't promise a particular route. What we do commit to is that the documentation your carrier needs is complete, delivered to you, and sent wherever you ask.

02 · Questions

Claims questions

No. Florida law doesn't allow post-loss benefits under a policy issued on or after January 1, 2023 to be assigned to a contractor, and direct billing to a carrier relied on that mechanism. You hold the claim, we provide the documentation it runs on, and payment terms with us are agreed in writing before work starts.

No. Carriers maintain preferred vendor programs and there's nothing wrong with those companies, but the choice of contractor is yours. A preferred vendor has an existing relationship with your carrier, which some homeowners find convenient and others prefer to weigh up. Either way, the decision is yours.

Ask for the decision in writing with the policy language cited. Denials often turn on cause of loss or timing, which are evidence questions, and thorough documentation is what answers them. If you decide to take it further with a public adjuster or an attorney, we'll provide the complete file to whoever you choose.

Not always. If the cost of the work is close to your deductible, filing may end up costing you more in future premium than it returns. We can help you understand the scale of the damage so you can make that decision with real numbers in front of you.

It depends on how many rooms are wet, the water category and how long it sat. A single-room clean-water loss caught early costs a small fraction of a large contaminated-water job. You get a written scope before equipment goes in, along with the payment terms in writing.
